Every unit in Anime Adventures has a grade, an element, and a role. The difference between clearing a stage and wiping usually comes down to how you put them together, not raw power. Here's the tier breakdown and how to build around it.
A solid team covers five roles: two damage dealers, one support (heals or buffs), one or two AoE farmers, and a tank or controller. Story stages love AoE — enemies roll in waves. Boss fights and raids need single-target burst and survivability. Build at least two teams: one AoE-heavy, one single-target. Don't get stuck in a bad matchup.
Units carry Fire, Water, Earth, Light, or Dark. Some stages and bosses resist or take extra damage from specific elements — a mono-element team can hard-counter one fight and get walled by the next. Keep one unit of each major element handy and swap your lead based on the stage preview instead of running the same squad everywhere.
